Research activity

Focused mainly on two lines of research:

A.    Building materials

  • Preparation and characterization of compounds with direct metal-metal bond.
  • Characterization of the aqueous phase embedded in the pores of the concrete.
  • Mortars with polypropylene fibers
  • Behavior of steel fiber mortars in aggressive media
  • Preparation and characterization of belite cements
  • Using ultrasonic techniques for the characterization of mortars.
  • Behavior and ash applications: municipal solid waste ash Microstructural changes in concretes with different ash content.
  • Transport mechanisms in mortars and concretes
  • Preparation and characterization of high-performance micro-concrete: toughness, wear resistance, resistance to chemical attack

B.      Environmental pollution caused by road traffic

§  Analysis of the evolution of the emission levels in the city of Madrid.

§  Models such as traffic emissions

§  Application of emission models in the environmental assessment of transport infrastructure.
