A bit of history
Welcome to the Caminos, Canales y Puertos Departmental Section of Linguistics Applied to Science and Technology. In September 2005, the Governing Board of the UPM officially declared the Teaching Unit of Linguistics at ETSI Caminos, Canales y Puertos a “Departmental Section”.
This Departmental Section belongs to the Department of Linguistics Applied
to Science and Technology of Madrid Technical University (UPM). The
Department emphasizes teaching and research that seeks to discover and
provide deep explanations for general properties of linguistic form,
meaning, and usage. Founded in 1987 in
ETSI Caminos, the Department is currently based in the ETS de Ingeniería y
Sistemas de Telecomunicación (Campus Sur) under the direction of Silvia
Molina Plaza.
